The world desperately needs radical design solutions, and innovative alternative practices will be at the forefront. An alternative practice operates outside traditional modes, both in its structure and approach to design problems. It consciously stands at the periphery and strives to challenge the status quo. The project was commissioned by the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. Music Lives Here pays tribute to the spaces, places, and people that have shaped Chicago’s music landscape, past and present, through unique graphic sidewalk markers installed at 50 sites across the city.
